Vloebergs, Vermeulen and Hendrix make a deal in DoP KickOff Event
Last Saturday we celebrated the Days of Poker app and the new Days of Poker Team in a fancy Team DoP KickOff Event. The KickOff Event was played at Circus Poker Club Antwerp. During the day there were some OFC workshops and qualifiers for the main event later that night. Vloebergs, Vermeulen and Hendrix eventually made a deal in the DoP KickOff Event. Yves Min-Ho Vloebergs wins the DoP KickOff Event. He took the title and highest payout. A whopping € 780 was his prize, not bad for a night of low-stakes poker amongst friendly colleagues.
Team DoP KickOff Event
The KickOff Event had a fix prize pool of € 5.000 but direct buy-in was not an option. To get invited you needed to register for at least one of three online Team DoP BPC Qualifiers (€ 109) in the Days of Poker app. 1 such online qualifier buy-in would entitle you to 1 live KickOff seat. Of course we provided a live € 20 direct qualifier event in the room too as to give players the opportunity to qualify for less money. This all leaded up to a nice qualifier event with 28 players and eventually 5 extra players for the KickOff event. Simon Nickmans became the bubbleboy unfortunately and left the table without KickOff ticket. Did manage to win such a ticket was Wim Verhaegen, one of five team members of the new Team DoP.
Also available during the day were some workshops about the Open Face Chinese game. Players already informed about the game could then move on to the live qualifier for a first shot. At 20h it was finally time for the actual KickOff Event. In total 45 players managed to subscribe and with already a € 109 online ticket waiting for them in the Days of Poker app they could all play at ease. Some cool prizes were waiting for them, live and online. 40% of the field, 18 players, would leave with some kind of cash that night. All Team DoP team members were joining the action but 3 of them wouldn’t cash. Lovely Van Broeck finished 34th, Glenn Laureys 25th and Jorden Verbraeken 20th.
In the money in DoP KickOff Event
In no time we went from 21 players to 17, so no real bubble action could be detected. Ivan Geeraerts officially ended up as bubbleboy. One of the more known poker players in the circuit and Team DoP team member, Wim Verhaegen, just managed to get in the money with a 13th place and € 150. Half an hour later David Olurebi got the same payout leaving the event as 10th. Like this we could start the final table with 9 lucky players.
Final table of the DoP Kick-Off Event
The final table started off with a blast when Patrick De Boeck immediately finished 9th (€ 200) and not much later Kristof Coenen got out as 7th (€ 250). Esmee van der List, last of the Team DoP team members, got a fantastic 5th place result for a nice € 300. Just doing better was Jeroen Buls with € 400 on the bankroll. The remaining three players discussed a genuine deal dividing the remaining € 2.300 almost equally. Yves Min-ho Vloebergs eventually took it down and managed to take home a well deserved € 780. Laurens Vermeulen and Giovanni Hendrix, who got it thanks to the € 20 qualifier event, both won € 760.
BPC 2019 Qualifiers
On 26th, 27th and 28th of November (21h10) three different € 109 BPC 2019 Qualifiers will be held in the Days of Poker app. Here you can win a € 750 package to join the BPC during the last weekend in Namur (6-8 December).
